Trading Segments

Market Access Across Relevant Segments.

Segments

A Structured Overview of Eligible Segments

This page provides a structured overview of eligible market segments available through applicable exchange and platform arrangements.

It is intended for informed clients who want to understand the nature of each segment, the permissions that may be required and the relevant risks and costs. Access depends on account status, eligibility, product availability and applicable rules.

Segments

Choose a segment

Select a segment to review its nature, requirements and risks.

Section 01

Equity Cash Market

Buy and sell listed shares and exchange-traded funds on NSE and BSE, for delivery or intraday. Delivery trades settle into your demat account on a T+1 basis.

Delivery purchases need full payment by the settlement deadline. Intraday positions must be squared off within the time set by the exchange and JDA's risk policy.

Before you transact

  • Confirm that the account is active and the relevant segment is enabled.
  • Review the security, order details, settlement information and applicable charges.
  • Retain transaction records and use official support channels for discrepancies.

Access is subject to account activation and the segments enabled for your account.

Section 02

Equity Derivatives — Futures & Options

Trade index and stock futures and options on NSE and BSE. Each contract has an exchange-set lot size, expiry and margin, and open positions are marked to market daily.

Key risks

  • Leverage and margin obligations can magnify losses.
  • Contract expiry, volatility and liquidity may affect outcomes.
  • Review exchange contract specifications and risk disclosures before trading.

Derivatives are not suitable for every investor.

Section 03

Commodity Market

Trade commodity futures and options on MCX across bullion, base metals, energy and agricultural contracts, once the segment is activated on your account.

Commodity contracts have their own lot sizes, trading hours and delivery rules. Some contracts can lead to physical delivery if held into the delivery period, so check the specification before you trade.

Availability depends on the segment being enabled for your account.

Section 04

Currency Derivatives

Currency derivatives trading is not offered by JDA at present. This section will be updated when the segment becomes available.

RBI rules require participants to have an underlying foreign-exchange exposure to take positions in rupee currency derivatives. Contracts are cash-settled in rupees.

Product availability is subject to permissions and current exchange arrangements.

Public Issues & IPO Access

Apply for IPOs and other public issues on the main board and SME platforms through ASBA. Your bid amount stays in your bank account and is only blocked until allotment.

Individual investors can apply with a UPI ID and approve the mandate in their UPI app. You can also apply through your bank's net banking ASBA facility.

Issue access depends on the supported application mechanism and relevant issue terms.

Account Permissions & Onboarding

Each segment must be activated on your account before you can trade in it. Derivatives and commodity segments need extra documents, such as proof of income, and risk acknowledgements.

  • Active trading and demat account
  • Segment enablement request
  • Required documentation and risk acknowledgements
  • Eligibility checks and approvals

A request does not itself guarantee activation.

Margin, Settlement & Transaction Obligations

Trading in any segment comes with obligations on margin, settlement and timely payment, set by SEBI, the exchanges, the clearing corporations and JDA's risk management policy.

Margin Requirements

Exchanges set upfront margins for derivatives and intraday positions. You can provide margin as funds or as securities pledged through the depository. A shortfall can attract penalties and positions may be squared off.

Settlement

Equity trades settle on a T+1 basis. Securities you buy are credited to your demat account, and sale proceeds to your trading account, as per the exchange settlement schedule.

Transaction Obligations

You must pay for purchases and deliver securities you sell by the settlement deadline. Check the contract note sent within 24 hours of each trade and report any discrepancy promptly.

Requirements differ by segment and product and are governed by applicable exchange and regulatory frameworks.

Digital Access & Transaction Workflow

Place orders, track positions and view reports on JDA's web, desktop and mobile platforms. All of them use the same trading account and segment permissions.

Log in only through the official links on this website, with two-factor authentication. Never share your password or OTP with anyone, including callers who say they are from JDA.
